This quaint town, with its well-preserved Victorian-era architecture and a rich mining heritage, offers a unique blend of cultural significance and outdoor adventure. Home to the renowned Colorado School of Mines, Golden is a hub of innovation and education. And if you're seeking a unique spot for dinner...and I mean really different...consider African Grill and Bar.

This spot is an absolute gem that brings a taste of the African continent to the foothills of the Rockies. From the moment you step inside, the warm and inviting ambiance sets the stage for an exceptional dining experience. The menu is a culinary journey through Africa, offering a diverse selection of dishes that capture the essence of the continent's flavors. I was particularly impressed by the perfectly seasoned and tender meats, whether it was the succulent lamb chops or the flavorful peri-peri chicken. The plantain sides were a delightful addition, and the jollof rice was a true standout. The attentive staff were both knowledgeable and passionate about the cuisine, making dining here not just a meal but an educational and cultural experience. The music and decor added to the authentic atmosphere. African Grill and Bar is a must-visit for anyone looking to expand their palate and immerse themselves in the rich and vibrant culinary traditions of Africa right in the heart of Golden, Colorado.

I'll tell you how I discovered this spot. My friends and I came here a few weeks back and absolutely loved our experience. To start, the service was amazing and so helpful in helping us decide what to eat, as we had no idea what we should be ordering. We tried the yam fufu with lamb egusi, plantain fufu with palm soup, and one of their welcome plates. Everything was incredible and each item had a unique and rich flavor profile. The portions were large but we always love that, and everything was great leftover. It's pretty far from where I work when I'm in Golden, but I would make the drive out again just for the food. And one of the best parts about this spot is the great customer service. Combined with the unique menu for this year, it is a hallmark the restaurant. They truly care about the customer, the menu and the overall experience. It goes beyond mere transactions, creating a positive and memorable experience. It's about listening attentively, empathizing with customer needs, and going the extra mile to exceed expectations.

Exceptional customer service entails being responsive, respectful, and courteous, even in challenging situations. It's about making customers feel valued and appreciated, fostering trust and loyalty. When a company consistently delivers great customer service, it not only resolves issues promptly but also builds long-lasting relationships that can lead to repeat business and enthusiastic recommendations. Ultimately, great customer service is the heart and soul of a successful and customer-centric organization and African Grill and Bar has mastered the task at hand.

Bottomline, this is phenomenal food and a great concept for Golden, Colorado; absolutely incredible food. Family restaurant and home cooking at its finest. Everything we had was flavorful, comforting, and portioned fairly for the price. I've never had anything like what I had ordered nor had I seen it anywhere else. So many uniquely beautiful dishes prepared with so much love! We had the fufu and stew and the pounded yam with lamb! Both were phenomenal. I will back to try more from this little hidden gem!
