And when it comes to the Rocky Mountain Pizza Co., it all starts with the foundation – a perfectly thin, yet chewy crust, lovingly hand-stretched and baked to a golden perfection. The crust is the canvas upon which the magic unfolds, offering just the right amount of crispiness on the outside and a tender, doughy interior that provides a satisfying contrast of textures. Their sauce, made from ripe, sun-kissed tomatoes, is well-balanced. I've been here five or six times and their pizza always offers a burst of vibrant acidity, sweetness, and a hint of umami that dances across the taste buds. Additionally, a great pizza's cheese is a melty masterpiece, typically featuring the creamy richness of mozzarella that blankets the entire pie, binding all the elements together. And that would be good enough for me. But when it comes to this spot, it doesn't stop there; it's the thoughtful selection of toppings that truly distinguishes a great pizza. Whether it's the simplicity of a classic Margherita with fresh basil leaves, or the boldness of a loaded meat lover's delight, each ingredient should be chosen with care and precision, creating a delightful ensemble of flavors and textures.
I recommend starting at the beginning of the menu - this spot recommends starters, greens and 'sandos' (sandwiches). But their pizzas are the real show in town. The only point is that they will not mixed base sauces on 12” and/or 16” pizzas. And to help those who have concerns over their diet and allergies, they offer a 9” Gluten Free option as well as common 12” Small, 16” Medium, 20” Large pizzas as well.
What makes their crust different is something to really experience. Using a custom homemade crust with Caputo Flour, water, olive oil, yeast & CO Mountain Honey, they conjure their own version of a "Colorado Style" pizza; thin and crispy in the center with a bit of a pull toward the outer edge. Quick note - their Gluten-Free crust is not made in-house. but equally awesome! Even better, they subtract $2 from 12" prices for gluten free specialty pies! How about that?
Considering the quality and portion size of the pizzas at Rocky Mountain Pizza Co., I found the prices to be more than reasonable. You get a lot of bang for your buck here, making it an excellent value for the quality of food and service you receive.
I opted for an amalgamation of speciality meats that I called "Rocky Mountain Supreme," a mouthwatering masterpiece loaded with specialty meats (double charge): Creminelli pepperoni, pecan wood smoked pork collar, mortadella (when available), Capicolla (when available) and La Quercia Nduja (when available). The combination of fresh, high-quality ingredients and a perfectly crispy crust left my taste buds in awe. The generous cheese-to-topping ratio was a testament to their commitment to delivering the best pizza experience in Glenwood Springs.
For a pizza place, the atmosphere is clean and casual; great for families and a fantastic lunch. I'm impressed by the service as well as the pizza. Number one in this town...and a full pizza place clearly agrees with me.

This local pizza joint uses ingredients sourced from the greater Rocky Mountain area for fresh toppings and amazing pies. There’s lots of creations to choose from, but the Jalapeño Popper with Italian sausage, cream cheese, red onions, bacon, jalapeños and finished with honey sriracha is divine.
