You probably know all about Breckenridge, Colorado. But if you don't, Breckenridge is nestled in the heart of the Rocky Mountains, is a captivating jewel among Colorado's picturesque towns. The town is positively adorable and the the foodie revolution has surfaced here (and massively improved) for the past 10 years.
And when you're in this adorable city, there's one spot that everyone can't stop talking about for an amazing dinner - Twist. And I'll tell you how I came to know this place. My brother-in-law services ski resort equipment and he receives discounts to local ski lifts, events, races, etc. Every now and then, we are invited to spend some time with him and his family in Breckenridge. And after a handful of visits to Twist, I decided to tell you a little about this wonderful spot.
Twist is a quaint restaurant that exudes a distinct flair and authenticity that captures the essence of the Breckenridge. With weathered wooden beams and rustic décor, Twist exudes a cozy, mountain cabin charm that instantly transports diners to a bygone era. The menu is a culinary journey through Colorado's rich flavors with a few inexpensive and innovative options, featuring locally sourced ingredients that reflect the state's agricultural heritage. From lobster rolls to crab cakes (excellent level of spice), every dish tells a story of the area. The attentive staff, dressed professionally casual and warm smiles provide a warm and inviting atmosphere, making each guest feel like an old friend. Whether you're savoring a hearty meal of a lamb shank or enjoying a ginger peach tart for dessert, Twist embodies the true spirit of Breckenridge, offering a genuine and unforgettable dining experience that feels like a cherished gift of the mountains and the people.
I'll merely tell you about my first experience at Twist. The hostess, and my waitress, Emma, gave me such a warm welcome and were ensured I was ell taken care of. My fiancé ordered the lamb chop appetizers and said they were so yummy. I'm not a big fan of lamb so I went with the Cheese & Charcuterie Board. Perhaps we visited on the right night but our table neighbors were super cool and even shared their dessert with us, so we did the same in return. It was great, great vibes. The experience added to the moment in this beautiful restaurant (reminding me of a big cozy home) off the Main Street. This experience alone would definitely encourage me to return.
Then, about four months later, we returned to Breckenridge and were excited to try different items at Twist. That evening, we had reservations for 6:30 pm and, as usual, the service was fantastic (we had "Izzy," who was a new team member and did a great job). The food is so delicious. I enjoyed the Smoked Korean Tempei which was perfect, my brother-in-law had the Mahi Mahi Koi Soi, and my husband the Almond Crusted Seared Ruby Red Trout. Everyone loved their meal. We sat on their lovely patio, and thoroughly enjoyed our evening.
Then...about one month later, we returned once more. I enjoyed the Elk T-Bone and my hubby ordered the Buffalo Filet - they were truly cooked perfect and excellent! Two thumbs up for a great experience while another visit to Breckenridge! The entire staff from host to bartender to waitress made our dining experience superb!

Excellent food and the best staff! We sat outside on the pet-patio and had a beautiful view of the mountains while enjoying dinner. When you're in Breckenridge, give Twist a try. And tell them I said 'Hello!'
